3.3 SERVICE UNIT
AIR FILTER
PRESSURE REGULATOR
LUBRICATOR
@ - SUPPLY PRESSURE 7 BARS, SET PRESSURE 6 BARS
PRESSURE DROP ΔP = 1 BAR ( STANDARD MODEL ).
The service unit is nothing but the built
in package of combination of filter, pressure regulator and lubricator.
The purpose of air filter is to
clean the compressed air of all impurities and any condensation that might be
entered with the intake air and delivered by the compressor.
The pressure regulator are reducing valve
assigned the duty of maintaining a largely constant operating regulator of
fluctuations in the air main pressure and air consumption rate. The inlet
pressure must always higher than the outlet pressure.
The lubricator is required to
ensure an adequate supply of lubricant to the pneumatic equipment. The
lubrication is done by injecting the oil into the air stream. The lubricator
start working only when the airflow reaches a certain rate, below which the
velocity across the nozzle is to low to draw oil into the air stream. Only thin
mineral oil may be used in pneumatic system lubricator. Viscosity ratings are
normally 2 to 5 degree Engler at 20 degree Celsius or 10 - 50 centistrokes. The
rule to be observed for complete service unit is that the flow and pressure
range specified by the manufactures must be maintained or the unit must be
selected to suit the given parameter of flow and pressure.
